When he wakes up with a fish in his pants.

It seems pretty good so far. I just pre-ordered it.

It's a stupid term and you can blame UK music journos for it.

Yeah, of the "shoegaze" bands, they were the ones that seemed like they owned some Stooges records. The most "rock"/"American" of the scene (though not afraid of effects pedals and atmosphere). Good band.

Thanks for the heads-up, listening now, not bad!

Comment/avatar synergy off the charts….

Now the poor bastard needs a machine — to POOP!

I'm not convinced that Nina's initial fear was incorrect, and that it's not the other girl that is intended to do the betraying. Dangling this deal in front of Nina could just be the KGB's way to get Nina to open up and start talking to her cell mate…but who is playing who? I'd imagine that for the KGB, pitting

It'd be nice if Elizabeth finally picks up on the parallels - here she is, seriously considering indoctrinating Paige into her own "religion", yet looking on with fear and disgust as Paige toys with being indoctrinated into another (one that, arguably, shares certain Marxist-friendly ideas).

they've never struck me as a particularly strong outfit on stage

Wow, you were not kidding. If I just heard that randomly I would've thought it was a Cure B-side or something. The vocals are particularly egregious.

Came here to say that if you like the Field Mice you might dig these guys, and of course O'Neal covered that already.

Agree with you that the OP title ("Hate") and xenophobia may be overstating things a bit, but I think there is *some* truth here, and in fact I think there's an even more nettlesome thesis, which is it's that it's less Skinner's 'Englishness' than his 'whiteness and roughly-middle-classness' that explain why the album

Can I spend it with the Swedish Chef?

YES, I AM AWARE OF THAT. NO NEED TO YELL. PERHAPS YOU ARE NEW AROUND HERE, BUT HERE AT AVCLUB WE OFTEN MAKE "SNARKY" COMMENTS ABOUT THINGS, EVEN THINGS THAT WE CLEARLY LOVE BEYOND ALL REASON, LIKE BEE THOUSAND.

Loveless: recorded in multiple studios over two years, nearly bankrupted the label.
