Still a better choice.
Still a better choice.
Indeed, Shameless finally has shown its chops as a consistently B+ show in the net, even if it occasionally veers into C+/B- and B+/A- area every so often.
There's something absurdly awesome that Mandy the murderer is still a far, *far* better choice for Lip than Karen.
Debbie is EASILY the best child actor I can think of, bar your Dakota Fannings or whatever. For real, she had better have a dope career in the offing. If she gets sidelined as "that cute kid that can never work after she turns 19 or 20," I'll be heated.
I think their casual acceptance of the possibility this was a wesen was one of the few things done well on this episode. We don't need a bunch of exposition-filled scenes with Nick shooting Renard dirty looks or anything. Nick, Renard and Hank just know the deal and can speak more openly. Otherwise, the status quo…
Ohhh yeah. If this is her trying to show she actually can act…she should just end it now and put it us all out of our misery.
Nailed it. Her head overlooking my fireplace, that is.
More Renard royal family business please. It's the only thing keeping me watching this show. And not for fucking long either if they don't kill off Juliette. I know it's become passé to complain about her acting, but she brings nothing whatever to the table, except for when she capsizes plots with potential by being…
Can we all just agree that Juliette outdid herself tonight and finally showed that her acting range amounts to looking nonplussed and…looking nonplussed?
I'm ride or die at this point, so I guess I shouldn't seem so mopey. But if I wanted to see the brothers squabbling, I could just watch any other season. So, yeah, I'm looking to see the writers up the stakes and fill out the mythological universe, preferably beyond the point of absurdity.
It's a highly serviceable B vehicle that consistently churns out entertaining-enough episodes and seems constantly on the verge of breaking out, but it hasn't quite made that A episode yet. That said, Arrow does a lot of stuff better than you'd expect it to, and it's surely entertaining.
I saw what looked like the designs of a reset to the more meandering MOTW episodes of S1 and S2, which would be just fine with me if it could have breathed life into the show. It didn't. They really need to get to the mythologizing already.
I've been complaining off and on about his obvious disdain for this show, and rarely are AVClubbers in such agreement.
Nailed it. While a surprisingly swift and unceremonious way of neutralizing Crixius and Agron, it all felt perfectly in step with Tiberus's serviceable fighting skills
In an absolute sense, Adalind may not be all that great of a character. But relative to Juliette or Mama Grimm (serviceable casting at best), I think it's unobjectionable to state that Adalind is a pretty solid character.
Juliet is just so goddamn awful.
Daaaaaaaaaaammmmmmnnnn.
Gannicus would survive a thermonuclear apocalypse, parrying the blows of zombie hordes with few blows and a smile.
Spartacus may be Batman, but Gannicus is the entire Seal Team Six rolled into one smirking dude without a care in the world. Dude is unstoppable.
Welp, that's the high-water mark for the show. It's all downhill from here.
