Historically speaking, Crixus could part ways at any moment for a number of reasons. Some accounts say they parted ways over strategy, while others argue that their upcoming split — assuming they base the remainder of the show in empirics — was a ruse that didn't wind up turning the tides of the Third Servile War in…
I may hate the implication that being supportive of Israel is somehow a bad thing…but you still get a "like" for being topical and, well, correct.
I would like to think that nobody is dumb enough to actually argue that gayness is like kryptonite to would-be murderers and that this is just what happens to people who take the brown acid.
Right? Except no main characters will meet their maker (see: all of Kurt Sutter's work) and he's going to squander the premise on melodramatic bullshit.
Saw it. But Sidereel.com misled me to believe that episode 5 was being shown tonight.
But isn't Spartacus on tonight at 10PM?
My disbelief that a Root/Shaw collabo show would be compelling notwithstanding — despite loving Amy Acker, Root is too sadistic of a character to hold my attention — your major point is well taken. Simply put, a show about the "relevant target" side would make for great TV, and Shahi's…
Right? I'm so used to his Supernatural reviews that I was genuinely surprised to realize after the fact that Phil had written this.
Agreed. This, I hope, will be the tipping point from which this show grows from a good show to a great one. It sure seems like a promising start.
Yeup. I absolutely hate Phil's coverage of a few shows — *cough*, Supernatural, *cough*, Arrow this week, *cough* — but he does a great job with this show.
PoI does indeed seem to be on exquisite footing. They've made the case-of-the-week structure pay dividends while organically filling in the mythology of the series better than most.
Dear AVClub:
This about sums up my opinion of HoC.
I wholeheartedly second the B+ — a bunch of B's, a few A-'s, and one or two A's.
Oh, fuck yeah. That'd be the best choice possible. A little Luther/Elementary crossover — with some tweaks of Luther's world-view — would be fantastic, too.
Right? Im no expert on the subject, but I'd imagine coerced fellatio would fall under the umbrella of "rape," and the fact that it's part of the job description and affects everyone but Fionna, that's pretty damn "systematic."
Phil's Supernatural reviews started to get very negative at the outset of season 6, which admittedly rebooted a plotline which had run its course. Throughout seasons 6 and 7, it became clear that Phil had essentially given up on the show and was dialing in his negative reviews. They were very short and snarky, and…
Just watched Glen Garry Glen Ross last night for the first time. It was…pretty good.
It is competent and and it can be quite great, if a tad unevenly so. If you're a political animal in any way, you'll enjoy the shit out of it.
