You're right that the venue is very nice, but I'm going to boycott this show to protest their insane prices.  $65-$85 for this show!!!  Not sure how much the Beacon shows will be, but at the Orpheum, for example, tickets are $30 cheaper!

Yeah, that scene definitely struck me as an overt homage to Taxi Driver right down to the carnage surveying overhead shots.  I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned in the review or in the comments before now.
