My mother used to dress up as Columbia and go to the show in the late 70s, so it didn't have much subversive power for me. But watching the movie has always been a fun, campy time for me.

@Flaubert
I was all excited hoping the cut scene from "But I'm a Cheerleader" would be all kinds of sexy, but it just made it slightly more obvious that Natasha Lyonne was masturbating. Disappointment!
I personally don't understand the appeal of album collecting, but I would appreciate, say, a first edition copy of Lolita. No way am I ever going to be able afford it, but I would appreciate it if I had it. I can read the book other ways, but the object itself would matter to me.
It's basic economics, leave no money on the table. Items are ultimately going to sell for how the market values them. What's sticking in some people's craws is that some legit fans can only afford to pay $20, but do really want the album. But, hey, price discrimination is what this great country is known for.

Many other cultures still have the "let's put on a show" bit at parties and gatherings, but it's more or less died in this country. I'm not a big AI fan, but I do remember enjoying the first couple seasons of Project Runway because they still had…
Don't the AV Club grades mean how well something lived up to its genre/style/what have you?
Sloppy seconds?
The best part about the Russian nanny is that she talks in a Ukrainian accent!

Get over it and comfort yourself with a sheep.
Caprica = Battlesnore Galactica
The thing about being an addict
is you actually have to want to get better in order to get better. I don't think she wants to.
When Kathleen Hanna dies, my adolescence will truly be over.
Those are all good (though I've never gotten into CCR) but Heard It Through the Grapevine is the hands done winner in my book. Ari sings in it a delightfully snotty manner.
As a child of the internet
It always astonishes me that magazines like this were widely sold and read.
