It is! Hope this one gets some love when it hits theaters, even if it's just all the Childrens Hospital fans in the theater.

Okay, I'll take that.
I enjoyed the film quite a bit and had fun picking out all of the classic sci-fi nods (and I promise not to name the mystery movie either.) So here's my nitpicky little plot question:
Though this will hopefully be many decades in the future, let it be written on Scott's grave, "He really, really hated motion-smoothing."
East of West is waiting for me at the shop. Can't wait to pick it up this weekend.
This is currently the book I am most excited for each month. I know it'll never happen (what with it being impossible for Hollywood to put "comic book movie" and "moderate budget" in the same sentence) but these stories are what would make a great Hawkeye movie. Jeremy Renner living in a dumpy apartment, fighting his…

The funny thing is, when I first saw this movie at the Sundance Film Festival, it featured the INXS song, so when I finally saw the film months later on DVD, I was confused as to why they had changed it to "The Killing Moon."

I just can't bear to watch the DC of Mohicans because I get extremely angry every time I get to part where he's cut the line "One day you and I are going to have a serious disagreement." Also, it pisses me off that I can't even GET the original theatrical cut.

In Aliens, the addition of the scene involving the family of colonists discovering the aliens is, indeed, unfathomable. But I do like the scene of Ripley trying to search for surviving family members on earth and learning that her own daughter has grown old and died while she's been away. It lends greater weight to…

Great song. And Dodgy had a pretty self-aware sense of humor about themselves too. Also, I love and still listen to Ocean Colour Scene's Moseley Shoals. Great album.
I went and saw Guster play the opening night of their new acoustic tour. One of the best concert experiences I've had. The band was clearly having a blast and they took requests and Q&As from the audience the whole time. Awesome.
I know the critics aren't usually able to cover the Shorts Programs, but they're reliably some of my favorite experiences of the festival, with each program capable of producing both works of genius and absolute crap. This year was no different.
Great obit as usual Sean
It would really be nice to see her name mentioned more often alongside the other greats of the New Hollywood era. She's one of the few who comes across well in Peter Biskind's Easy Riders Raging Bulls. (Although pretty much anybody comes across as a wonderful human being when compared to Peter…
Holy crap
That is some crappy looking crap. Crap.
One of the greats!
When a great artist passes away, the best side effect the outpouring of appreciation for all the great work they produced. This should be a great comments thread. I'll put a plug in for his amazing Tomb of Dracula work!
Sitwell Housing
This is cool. I had no idea that the TV Club Classic for this show was about to start. My wife and just did a marathon of AD on Memorial Day. One little callback (call-forward?) I noticed was that the company Michael interviews with is Sitwell Housing, which will enter into greater prominence with the…
