It felt off, but people often react to a joke that falls flat as akin to the worst moment in the history of tge show, which is odd.

Harsh

This is the Gene that wrote Topsy and Farts are Liberty, not to mention Work Hard ir Die Trying Girl.

Dont forget Homer Simpson's Roast

Im expecting Phil to leave with someone, thinning the cast. But thats it.

Not all callbacks are supposed to be funny? Im assuming the clown bed was just for context

I presume im gonna be baffled at everyone's intense hate for this joke tonight

I think the episode felt this way because the writers wanted to get as much people in the past as possible.

One episode I dont get the love for is Marge vs the Monorail. I hate using the word overrated but if I would use it for any Simpsons episode, it'd be for that one.

I loved this episode, but that guy was way too angry to deserve a reply.

Holy crap…..you're right!

It seems to be a mixture of both coming from the current year and from 1989. The Simpsons world is not one you should try to think about, time-wise

I think 30 will be it too. Then we can compare the simpsons in 3 10 year intervals

While I understand the review, there was just too many funny lines to give this less than a B+

I dont get everyone's aversion to an even.moderately dark joke on this show

This season has been ripe for great moments between the parents and children.

The Buzzfeed lists are the best

Never gets old

Fallon is not good at impromptu things like interviews and such, which is why there are a TONNE of scripted stuff.

Oh, withdrawn then.
