I highly doubt Downton's gonna win drama series this year. Last year with all those nominations and all that buzz it wasn't able to get it done. I suspect Homeland is repeating.

Yes, the director of Ju Dou.

Fincher didn't really break through until Seven ('95) while the Coen Brothers became known and respected right after Blood Simple ('84), so I think it's enough of a gap. I would look at this generation of filmmakers as ones that broke through in the 90's.

The 'uh' was me thinking of movie. But yeah, it was a major oversight.

The point of the article is that films not rated R can be scary. My point was that even a movie rated PG can be scary. Also, Poltergeist is now rated PG-13.

Uh…. Poltergeist. It's initial rating was PG.

I wasn't thinking quality. I was thinking format, tone, style. Although, when 30 Rock is its weakest it can resemble a less crude version of 30 Rock. So, it belongs there.

The cut-aways, the cartoonish stupidity of the characters, the social satire. Yeah, 30 Rock does it better, way better, particularly compared to FG's latter season.

You mean Europeans. She's never been attached to a Russian.

We could have a final between two Americans, since Sharapova is at least 60% American.

The fact that there was no mention of "Hardball", the first truly, truly great episode and the one that would map out the rest of the show's tone, is disheartening.

The show's a satire through and through, so its cartoon characters are just fine. Also, I don't see much humanity in Arrested Development or It's Always Sunny.

Arrested Development+The Office + The Mary Tyler Moore Show + one of the more clever episodes of Family Guy+a few good SNL sketches=30 Rock

I think Person of Interest and the now deceased Fringe is better. The Good Wife has been consistently hit or miss over the past year and half. But yes, considering the drought that is network drama Parenthood is solid stuff. It's just a disappointment for someone who loved FNL and was expecting something almost as

This is a pretty good drama by current broadcast standards, and it's grown a bit since its debut season, but overall, it's a disappointment for me. It's readily watchable, but unlike FNL, it's rarely inspired. And I just can't deal with what they've done to Lauren Graham.

Yes, it's always been a blatant soap, but in season one the storytelling was less scattered, more fleshed out, more engaging and a lil' bit closer to reality. Because it was so well executed snobs could see it as more than a soap. I mean Mad Men, as great as it's been, is in its heart a soap. Same thing with The

I think Buffy's humor helped and hurt it. Sometimes it felt like a crutch when the story was lacking. Sometimes it was ill-fitting. Then again, the melodrama was sometimes too heavy-handed/mopey, and sarcasm cut that down a bit. The show rarely got a great balance in tone, but its ambition made the unbalance

I do feel the series was more focused on getting the atmosphere and themes of the book. While the movie just feels like an outline of its general plot. The ambitions were definitely different. But even Peter Berg (the director of the movie and producer of the show) has said the show is a greater accomplishment, and

I'm exactly 25. Does that count? (But I am a movie nut who's been seeking out classics since 15).
