It was never consistently great. Seasons two, three and five are overall good. I do get tired of the collective internet's Buffy-blowing. Taken as a whole it's quite a mess of a show that's not nearly the GOAT that adamant fans claim. Still, its peak episodes are some of the most brilliant, inventive and influential

Reverse your insights and you'd be right.

Well, post-90's haven't been great for sitcoms. It's been more about reality shows and CBS dramas. The basis of a "hit sitcom" has been expanded since then. But my argument is that the headline is misleading. It makes simply says A Different World was the last hit sitcom with a mostly black cast. And that's not the

It's not a great episode, but it's a great ending. Does that make sense?

The headline says otherwise. You can be a hit (particularly in the 90's) without being the top ten.

Seasons 2 and 3 were genuinely good, sometimes great. Season four is when the shallow end began to show, but it was still fun and had some nice moments, particularly for Cynthia Nixon. That's when she really became the star of the show. Seasons five and six were undone by endless puns, strained storylines, cheesy

I'm not gonna bother reading the comments 'cause I'm sure there's a lot of "you're being racist". "No I'm not. You're being too sensitive" type notes, so I'm just gonna say this: A Different World is not the last black sitcom to be a hit. Martin and Living Single are the last hits for the four major networks.

I like Girls, but the show I thought it was during the pilot isn't what it turned out to be. It's not self-aware. It's self-conscious. There's been tons of discussion about American Horror Story and Downton Abbey. Most wouldn't refer to them as "complex". And I was more poking at Todd, who likes to see all these

The show you're describing Todd is lot more complex and self-aware than what I watched tonight. Oh yes, people. Check out Enlightened.

Episode 2 was definitely the highlight of the season. It's all downhill from here.

Quote from the episode

I'd put it in my top 25 dramas of all time, but if I were the rank the cop dramas it'd be behind Homicide: Life On The Street, The Shield and Hillstreet Street Blues, which all felt more singular and inventive than 'Blue'.

Mmmmhhhh I enjoyed the hell out of this, my favorite after "I am Anne Frank"

The Connie shade is unness. Yes, I'm a Britton fan. As far as great TV actresses, her work on FNL is only matched by Edie Falco's work in The Sopranos. The show is just a disappointment. There's not much there for Britton fans. It's not realistic or imaginative enough to be taken seriously. It's not clever enough to

Surprised there's no mention of "Rhino Skin", which might be the funniest episode of season one. The season two finale "Something Good Coming" is one of the best and most important episodes of the series.

Ya'll jack wrong for putting Alison Pill's crossed eyes out there.

Nurse Jackie was my fourth or fifth best show of the year, and no previous season was even in my ten. It was a near great offering. Also, it gave up pretending to be funny, which sorta helped.
