I didn't literally mean hate. I was just reacting to Todd saying he's never been a fan of hers. He was "hating on" her. Though I do think Paulson received some unwarranted criticism when she was on Studio 60.

But that had more to do with the lame glumness of her character than the acting.

Boo for the Sarah Paulson hate. She was the best thing about Studio 60 (yes, I know that's not saying much). And she should have been nominated in the supporting Oscar category for her work in Martha Marcy May Marlene.

I didn't find anything charming about season one. It for the most part irritated the hell out of me. And I gave up about six episodes in. My love for Britton and Lange's performance were the only reasons I managed to get through the amount of episodes I did.

I'm just buying this season in ways that I didn't buy the first. The lunacy is making sense.

That wasn't a good episode, and his performance was lacking. Sirico I always thought was miscast. It was okay in the first season or two when he was mostly background, but when he was asked to do more his limitations came through.

I get this episode in theory, but it was as dull as a fire-less hell and was so caught up in theme that the story got lost. That was the case with a lot of season 6b episodes.

Oh, it seemed based on the way your post was written that this was the first episode you'd ever seen.

This was certainly not the episode to watch for a first-timer. It's probably the weakest episode of the season, and the most oddly melodramatic, 24-like episode of the series. It does explore those themes. This episode did not.

The writers are writing scared. They're so scared of boring us that even when it's not needed they're force-feeding thrills and surprising. Nothing really happened in this episode (besides maybe Galvez and Peter being killed), but instead of calming down and re-establishing the new dynamics they made everything

The show is different now. It's bigger and messier and even more pulpy. I think 3 out of the first 5 episodes they did a more than good job at balancing it all. This was some other sh*t, some "show, you doing too much" sh*t. But I don't agree that the show needs to be plausible.
