I'm a filmmaker, which means I often have to do corporate films to pay the bills. I had to film a series of Harlem Shake videos across 7 branches of the same corporation. Seven times I had to shout encouragements to these poor, unwilling employees, urging them to "shake your booty!" and "look less like you're dying".

True that. For several years now my alarm has been the Flight Of The Conchords TV show theme. It really does get you up and going with a chirpy demeanor; but it also means I can't watch that intro unless I wanna instinctively feel like "awwww daaaang gotta get up at 6AM".

I'd settle for a Skype recording, and I'm sure the hatee would be tempted to put his or her anus up to the webcam many a time to express their dislike.

You've heard OF an album concept of theirs that sounds pretentious, and don't like one of the album titles. That's a pretty weak reason to dismiss that era of Flaming Lips.

The actual Nick Cave quote on Red Hot Chili Peppers is even better: "I'm forever near a stereo saying, 'What the fuck is this garbage?' And the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers."

My sentiments exactly. Did you read the interview with Refn hinting that Chang in Only God Forgives might be a reincarnation of Mikkelsen's One-Eye in Valhalla? It adds a lot to both films, I think. After all, One-Eye is clearly an avatar of Odin, the Norse all-father; and "chang" is Thai for elephant, an animal seen…

Don't dismiss Only God Forgives due to bad word of mouth, O'Neal! If you go in expecting more of a companion piece to Refn's Valhalla Rising instead of Drive 2, you'll at the very least appreciate it. I greatly enjoyed it, myself.
