Precisely. I found myself sitting up and paying attention when they got into the logistics and architecture of The Overlook, but then it's over in five minutes so they can devote more time to how this film is all about the white man's slaughter of Native Americans, maaan.

I would love to hear Sluggo's take on The Shining, that's true.

Man, my heart skips a beat every time I come across this in the cinema showtimes listings, believing it to be the fantastic Bong Joon-ho film. To be fair, my heart is a fool.

I liked this, but I wasn't THAT enamored by it; I'd give it a B, B-.

Man, following certain celebrities on Twitter can make you lose a lot of respect for them, if you're a shallow dick who puts way too much emphasis on spelling (like I am). I don't need to know that the singer from Arcade Fire doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're".

Or who couldn't even spell the title of his own film right!

Yeah, I know it's a bit of a knee-jerk reaction (with emphasis on the "jerk"). But everything they've said about this new season, combined with everything everyone involved has done in the meantime, fills me with dread.

The A.V. Club

I will! The feature in question is very Gilliam-esque, too: the director is a crazy-ass, creative dreamer with a background in art cinema, who suddenly has way too much money and responsibility to make a (relatively) mainstream picture.

Don't worry, that legacy will be well and truly ruined by the end of the new season.

I wouldn't be surprised if that really happened, actually!

I'm going to assume that "she's pulling your leg" is a horribly insensitive reference to Building Stories. Tsk, tsk!

I've got a feeling Ridley Scott had something to do with Blade Runner…(laughs) After all, isn't there a little Ridley Scott in all of us? (laughs harder) In fact, you might say that Ridley Scott "directed" Blade Runner and it's "in the pantheon of all-time classic sci-fi!" (Laugh. Pause.) Wait. Scratch that one.

You're off to an excellent start! I'd say watch Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas next (after Time Bandits). Opinions of it vary wildly, but I think it's pretty essential Gilliam. If you haven't seen Monty Python and The Holy Grail I suggest you do so post-haste, but I am sure you have and just don't think of it as a

In film school they showed us this and American Movie in a row. I wonder if they were trying to say "just fucking give UP, it's not worth it."
(OR maybe they were saying "It's alright, it's okay, there's something to live for… Jesus told me so!", who knows!)

She probably would, sadly, due to some…girth issues.

I loved it. But my girlfriend was bored as hell and called it "Podcast: The Movie".

@avclub-b3c8fb045ba4d7b395b3e319d98fa17f:disqus Ah, I see! Sorry if it sounds like I'm angry; my frustration stems from being a filmmaker in Singapore, not from any sort of comment you made.

@avclub-b3c8fb045ba4d7b395b3e319d98fa17f:disqus Where do you have it from that Singapore has the most developed comedy scene in Asia, and in what way do you mean that it's "polished"? I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong, but I am curious and I do disagree based on personal observations.

You still gotta smear peanut butter on something to get them to perform, though.
