I like it, though Tom Cruise as an epic hero is kind of weird. Ridley Scott gays it up a bit, but it IS a fantasy, so I think that's allowed. Tim Curry looks great.

I''e always been a little ashamed of this, but I too tolerated this movie pretty well. I had never seen some of the gritty realities of superheroing (like painkiller addiction) even addressed before. But yes, Electra/playground sequence was ridiculous and pandering. I even liked the blind/soundwave effects.

Agree there - I'm getting so old it almost hurts to watch it, but I do love that movie. Connery and Hepburn had great chemistry, I thought. That's the way to grow old.

Zacly the same with me, only I just ran. My two friends and I used to swoon over Barnabas (though he wasn't that handsome, really.) But terribly sad to hear this - I have such fond memories of that batshit crazy show.
