WHAT'S THIS?!?  Is this a CLEVER REINTERPRETATION of various pieces of CORPORATE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY?!?  Specifically CHILDREN'S SCIENCE-FICTION and FANTASY CHARACTERS?  Done by FANS, in violation of COPYRIGHT and outside the possibility of COMPENSATION?  And it's on the INTERNET?!?

That trailer was fucking horrifying.  But it was horrifying for reasons completely unrelated to gameplay or interactivity.  If the game could somehow evoke the despair and futility of watching someone you love marked for death, like the trailer did, it'd be a masterpiece - it's a shame that the game's narrative seems

Jim, I am totally calling you out: you knew exactly where to find Ulysses.  You knew it was in the fiction section under J.  You just wanted to talk to the cute girl.

The Guardian raves!"Jaw-dropping… the 20th-century's greatest royal love story. What an extraordinary film this is.”

Fox is stealing from TV tropes.  Fantastic.  I will look forward to the inevitable day when their primetime programing consists entirely of terrible webcomics and breathless analysis of The Melancholy of Humahumy Soozayuki.

I kinda like the Dean, but it's lame the only gay character on the show is a freak with an unrequited crush on the studly male lead.
Chang… has his moments.  He was funnier as an antagonist, but his struggle to fit in can be a little poignant every once in a while.

"We're gonna have more fun, be less weird than the first two years combined."

you are married to her, right?
…this suggests a veritable clusterfuck of psychosexual issues.

Misanthrope - I liked the character stuff in theory but I thought it came off as a bit forced. The other two teasing Mina for using slang, and her getting defensive and saying "I need to keep up with the times" - very heavy-handed.
Also *SPOILERZ* Tom's appearance is kept vague enough to deter a lawsuit, and should be

I imagine we won't see a review for a few weeks…
But any thoughts on the new League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? A few nice moments that captured the end of hippie idealism, but otherwise just a parade of arbitrary references. It's a truism, but this series is really starting to read like fan fiction.

To be fair - the title could refer to how the mere existence of Jerry Lewis provides an explanation for why humanity is doomed. "The Day the Clown Cried" could be used as supporting evidence for the argument.

Neat
Believe it or not, this was the first "indie" record I ever bought. I think I was a junior in high school? It blew my mind back then - before that I just listened to the Beatles, Stones, etc. This was the first music I owned that my parents actually disliked.

Felt the same way about 1-4 - Goblet was released when I was in middle school, and if I recall correctly the first one where they lined up the international releases (before that my library got copies from the UK release, which was also crazy exciting, and made you feel like you'd gotten the book before you were

Worst - never had much time for Ginny, in either the books or films. Lots of "show, don't tell" going on once she gets on the quidditch team and apparently becomes the new hotness - everyone goes on about how great she is but we don't see much. As for the films, it's pretty clear they cast the actress to play the

Nick Cave dance scene
Anyone remember that bit from movie 7? Utterly superfluous - just a moment between these two characters, in the middle of the apocalypse, breaking through their discomfort and exhaustion and being a little silly. It was a great encapsulation of the relationship between the principals, which was

Barenaked Ladies - Pinch Me
Contains such witticisms as "There's a restaurant down the street / Where hungry people like to eat" and "I could hide out under there / I just made you say 'underwear.'"

I think what our nation needs…
Is for some enterprising art student to remix all three Transformers films into a completely incoherent five-hour long montage of robot pieces moving around and exploding. All attempts at plot and character would be excised.
If this hypothetical art student wanted to be really edgy, he

I loved "August and Everything After" back in 10th grade. It was one of the first non-classic rock records I bought. Of course, once I got to college I quickly learned that liking these guys was kind of taboo among the cool kids, and stopped listening to them (see also: Dave Matthews).

Twin Peaks
As astonishing as it is, the finale didn't really do it for me. I liked "Fire Walk With Me" much better as a coda.
