That would make sense if any of the movies ever at any point suggested that the xenomorphs needed to eat in order to grow. None of them do. Their design seems to just be "get big and ornery really damn fast," which is consistent throughout the mythology.

I'm not sure Shaw seemed like an ardent Christian, so much as a doubtful but optimistic one. Other than the crucifix, which is worn by lots of less-than ardent-Christians, I didn't think she seemed overly characterized as pious, any more than Holloway in his own scientist way.

Weyland did say about David, "He's the closest thing I have to a son," which would tie in with his other "child' being a bot as well. Still, it doesn't really change much either way.

Fantastic effects and visuals. First CGI-heavy movie I've seen in ages that looked seamless and innovative. That orrery scene (picked up a vocab word from this discussion)…stunning.

If you go somewhere hoping to find live things, and you find dead things, I would think it quite possible to be disappointed. Especially if those things are gods.

Nobody sings like that guy.

I would avoid anything they did without Wyatt and Hugh Hopper - not that it's bad, but it's not really very good. There's a compilation called In a Deaf Corner that has a bunch of early live material, and it's fucking diabolical - Ratledge's organ tone is positively metal.

Guess so.

Cheers for remembering Soft Machine - jeers for no Jethro Tull. Thick as a Brick, I mean, come onnnnnnnnn.

You know what they say about big shoe sandwiches.
