Spot on. People post stuff on the Internet (on this very site, even) that they wouldn't say to another person in real life. Reagan, in a sense, embodies that powerful anonymity. Yeah, that was part of his "schtick", but it was also how he was- someone who was larger than life, larger than everyone and everything-

I dunno…Aaron's cool.

You mean Sonia Saraiya was wrong about something? I don't believe it!

Heh .. 6.9

When I saw that, I immediately flashed on "Life of Brian", and thought about it getting scrawled on the town walls in ten foot font.

Maybe he'll come back —- as Negan.

Deanna wants to live!

It's wonderfully dated in a '70s way, but the performances are all solid, and the fact that it was a television adaptation makes it even more impressive, given the stringent Standards & Practices guidelines that the networks had back then. It really captured the out-and-out creepiness and sense of dread that Mr.

'Salem's Lot is one of my favorite King stories, and one of the few to make the transition to screen almost effortlessly.

Apropos of nothing, my favorite dumb record industry joke:

Thanks- I know that pre-Goldbergs it was at #2, but it doesn't surprise me that the Goldbergs moved up- it's a good show, and it helps to be Family's lead-in.

I would need to get the most recent numbers, but The Middle is a stealthy hit for ABC. While Modern Family was (and is) its #1 rated comedy, for a good while the Middle was a solid second in their lineup; not sure if #Blackish has gained some ground or if the Goldbergs have closed some of the gap, but it's a great

You're right- nowadays, it's no more Irish than any other major US city. If they went with a Boardwalk Empire-like period piece, it would've been more appropriate; when Providence was a shipping hub of the Northeast, up into the mid-20th century, the port was basically owned by the Irish mob that had its claws into

-Is it a thing where we can all agree that she knocks it out of the park in every scene that she's in, and she's STILL underrated?

This is just a siren call to me, and I can't resist getting into it over this. "Brotherhood" had so much potential, with so many good actors, and it just fell flat. The history of the Irish mob in Rhode Island is fascinating, and deserves a Sopranos-like series, but "Brotherhood" wasn't it.

That seems to be Fargo's stock in trade: last season the hitmen dropped that loudmouth into the frozen lake- basically because the guy pissed them off by acting like a tough guy more than just covering their tracks, and Malvo had no problem setting in motion, if not actively causing, scores of deaths.

Talking Dead just sort of teased it, too

Barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat, for one.

Maggie's pregnant!?

Right, Zack.
