I enjoy how Sal has gotten funnier—it's almost like he gives a crap and pushes himself to improve.

Agreed. Most Hatesongs boil down to an artist's vapid insistence that X song sucks. KB actually has some grist here.
Let's just hope everybody made it out alive. Especially Gutterballs, who is apparently reaching the height of his sexual powers.
YES! SPY IS CONSISTENTLY GREAT (with very infrequent misfires)!
Best thing all week: Erica Sigurdson on Stop Podcasting Yourself. How great is SPY when Graham and Dave connect with their guest?!
Is his Best Show appearance anything like the Analyze Phish appearance? If so…pass?
The appeal is the space; the appeal is listening to Tom think through and find what's funny. If you're pretentious, you would say that this is the show's "rhythm," and that the Best Show's "rhythm" is different, and that if you don't get it, you don't get it. However, "rhythm" aside, I do find that the Best Show…
You're right—it is much funnier with a hilarious comedian.
I give Never Not Funny its (approximately) annual chance before remembering that the free feed is just Pardo sycophants and two minutes of PFT. What a waste of time.
Are you kidding? While informative, Alton Brown is my least favorite expert witness. He's the wrong kind of mic hog on this podcast, which requires John Hodgman (and maybe Tom Scharpling) to establish the terrain in order to be funny. Alton Brown is simply too serious and too pushy.
Agreed. I can't believe it's been dropped from the rotation! As consistent as anything.
Yes, better than most, on account of basically ignoring season-long plot arcs. No bankruptcy, and no relationship drama. (In fact, Peter literally asks: Oh hey, is this dramatic? To which Alicia replies: Nope, just sexy.)
I second the Jordan Morris episode recommendation and all 4 or 5 Charlie Demers appearances. I'd add Bita Joudaki (whose laugh is irresistibly charming), Kevin Lee, and Erica Sigurdson. In general, I anticipate that I'll enjoy an archived episode if the guest is from the Sunday Service or a returning female guest,…

Guess I'll start the weekly tattoo for Stop Podcasting Yourself: Kurt Braunohler was great this week! Don't give it a miss.

And misogynistic. Don't talk to Hermes like that!
