Another good stab at Lovecraft's style was a Fred Ward movie called "Cast a Deadly Spell", the same creature effects people who worked on "Freaked" worked on it.
I would recommend Green Jello's "Three Little Pigs", I played it for my 5 year old nephew and he loved it. He also loved "Thriller" by Michael Jackson, and Weird Al's "Fat".
