At least Ben isn't constantly getting himself in trouble, then standing in wide-eyed shock as something slowly approaches him. I think I would have just let Carl get eaten after the third or fourth time.

I never thought I'd get emotional at the death of a skitter. Congratulations, Falling Skies. You made me feel feelings.

As much as I enjoyed seeing the political side of this war, a) the double coup the 2nd Mass managed to cause happened so damn fast, and b) there's a much cooler show out there featuring a plucky band of tortured teenage survivors teaming up with improbable allies to take down a gigantic alien force. That just seems…

You mean the "Indeed!" line? They did that years ago.

I keep thinking that. I've been wondering if that's the safe zone the fishhead offered Tom in the premiere. It would fit with them being allowed to leave safely in this episode, when Karen even mentioned the aliens have an airstrike that could destroy the 2nd Mass. If that's true, why not wait until they've got their…

It feels much more natural than last season. Even the annoying bonding/lesson learning at the end of each ep has gotten less forced. I can't decide if that's better writing, the comfort of the actors with each other, or just the audience starting to invest in the characters.

That really bugged me too. It seems like they just forgot about him. At the least, I would have at least liked Anne to say she tried to save him, or something to that effect. But I guess that storyline was already done last season, so anyone harnessed from here on out is just SOL.

I thought this week was streets ahead of last week's ep. I think the harness facility creep-factor was what did it for me.

The discussion of the sign with the green circle in the tag had me rolling, mainly because I've always wondered exactly what the hell those signs do mean. As Louie said, "If it was red, I still wouldn't know what it means."

I'd honestly forgotten how annoying Dawson is, since I hadn't rewatched the show since it's original airings, but, man, the Beek is hard to handle. Joshua Jackson, on the other hand, shows that he has always been pretty much as awesome as he is in Fringe.
