I thought Bokeem Woodbine was awesome, but there were almost too many good performances on Fargo S2 to pick a favorite. Also great: Jeffrey Donovan, Zahn McClarnon, Nick Offerman.

I absolutely loved Sicario and The Martian. I'm surprised The Martian is so far down, as I think it's my favorite (it is at least better than Crimson Peak and Bridge of Spies). Mad Max was great, but I'm not convinced it belongs at #1. Crimson Peak was a piece of shit.

Yeah, it's only three episodes in and I already sort of don't care about anything that's happening. The story is bland and the dialogue kind of sucks. It really all just feels like an excuse to show us some cool fight scenes (which, I must admit, do look great). I can stick it out for three more episodes, but

Nice list. Here's a good one that they missed…
Ross: "We're just gonna get an annulment."
Joey: "An annulment? Ross, I don't think surgery's the answer here."

I finished season 1 of Penny Dreadful on Saturday, I was skeptical at first that it was just retreading material that has been done to death. And, although it is retreading that material, it does so in a way that feels compelling and different enough to be unique. The tone kind of reminded me of American Horror

Something occurred to me while watching this episode. It was during the scene where Tommy was staring at the phone, begging it to ring… to give him a reason not to get on the bus. And, when it finally did ring, it ended up being a stupid robo-dialer.

My favorite show of the year (new or otherwise) has to be Silicon Valley. It started off so-so, and just got funnier as the season progressed. It probably helps that I'm a software developer, though.

To me, FLA is one of the few good industrial acts from the 80's/90's still releasing great music that doesn't sound incredibly dated.

TL;DR: "I hate this song because all of my friends were vapid douche bags and I was scared shitless of not fitting in with them."

I credit my older sister for being the one to ask our Grandma to get us a Nintendo for Christmas. Other than that, she introduced me to a bit of music (rock and some hip-hop), but not as much as my best friend's dad (who had a huge vinyl collection).

My 8th grade science teacher showed Outbreak in his class (for obvious reasons). My 10th grade English teacher showed 1776 (the musical), but I'm not really sure why (she was kind of a strange lady). I'm pretty sure I saw Selena (the biopic) in Spanish class (I can't think of a valid reason I would have watched it

Last night's episode made me realize something funny about this season: the two male leads (Denis O'Hare and Evan Peters) have had virtually no dialogue.

I really don't think I could sit through another 9 years of this show.

Between the narration and some rather silly expositional dialogue ("I'm a human voodoo doll, bitch!"), they seem to be explaining a lot more to the viewer than they did in previous seasons.  To me, American Horror Story is at its best when it is being mysterious and leaving us with questions each week.  That said, I

I cant tell which I care less about: Skye and Ward's painful back stories, or Skye and Ward's budding romance.  And troubled youths don't become hackers and secret agents; they become meth addicts and prostitutes.

"Barney, I hate these feelings.  I hate myself for having these feelings.  No one wishes they would go away more than I do."

They packed a LOT of set-up and backstory into one episode of television, which made the whole thing feel incredibly rushed.  I really feel like this should have been broken into at least two episodes.  I mean, three seemingly important characters got killed off, and (after the first two anyway) the characters went

In an interview he gave last year, Peart distanced himself from Rand's views.  He indicated that Rand's work was sort of important to him at the time, but his own views have evolved a bit.

Wow… I am really out of touch with the music scene.

Here's a real recent example: On the most recent episode of Monday Mornings, two of the doctors walk a medic in Afghanistan through brain surgery via a Skype-robot-thing.
