Thanks for that info! The opening seemed jarringly out of place to me and an unwelcome throwback to some of the more problematic elements of season one. I feel a lot better knowing that we (hopefully) won't be seeing more of the same.

I did see it coming, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment of Jake's reaction one bit.
I actually rewound that scene because I thought my eyes and/or brain were playing tricks on me.
I've always been convinced that Married with Children is basically an unofficial sequel to Paradise by the Dashboard Light.
