Elizabeth Perkins was in Cats and Dogs, she's already experienced rock bottom.
Basically in these films we have:
Maria Bello - Long-Suffering Wife Female Role
Maya Rudolph - Bitchy, Constantly Nags her Husband Female Role
Salma Hayek - Why the Fuck Is This Woman Married to Adam Sandler's Character Female Role
Starring Salma Hayek, Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph in Thankless Female Roles (even by the usual standards of Adam Sandler films)!
Have no opinion about Ellen DeGeneres but Dory was really funny and a great character. Mater was not.
But Cars wasn't too great to start with, whereas Finding Nemo was, so more to work with.
There are some real clunkers true, though fortunately as a New Order fan I've always been good at largely ignoring bad lyrics.
Listening to this streaming on Pitchfork Advance at the moment, it's pretty good - but yeah they probably could have lost that Dejalo remix.
I agree, I wouldn't say it was a great album and there are some 'what the hell' songs on there like The Moneymaker and 15, but the good songs on there (Silver Lining, Breakin' Up and The Angels Hung Around especially) are very good indeed. Doesn't deserve the hate it seems to still get anyway.
Well I remember the reviews when it came out being really toxic and even the band members since then have said they don't like it. Which is a shame as the good songs on it (like Silver Lining, Breakin' Up, The Angels Hung Around etc) are really good indeed.
So the record company planned on Justin Timberlake to go six years between albums?
I loved Acid Tongue, especially the frenzied hoedown at the end of Jack Killed Mom. And I know that even Rilo Kiley hate Under the Blacklight, but I think there's some very good songs on there. It's just the album also has some real 'what the hell were they thinking?' moments (The Moneymaker, 15 especially).
No idea what happened to JC, but the Basement Jaxx song he was on around a decade ago (Plug It In) is great - Kish Kash is a really underrated album.
You know your career has really hit the skids when you're a US actor and you need to star in a ITV drama
Shoutout to the trailer for The Blind Side, which pretty much summed up how terrible the film is in a few minutes.
Really? I can't agree with that, I think the English script works very well. I like Princess Mononoke a lot, but prefer other Ghibli films.
Bruce Willis had a similar 'I can't be bothered' promo appearance for A Good Day to Die Hard on a UK chat show last month. He presumably used up his latest reserves of 'can be bothered' on Looper and Moonrise Kingdom last year.
'You know what's great about you English? Octopussy. Man, I must have seen that movie . . . twice!'
There was that strange period where Ashley Judd was something like the highest paid actress in Hollywood off the back of one hit in Double Jeopardy seemingly. Very bizarre. Still, can't beat the classic that is Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
Since I Left You is one of the best albums of the 2000s. It's just brilliant.
