It's hardly like she's the only actress to ever star in some crap films.

I think Kristen Stewart has been good in some films outside of Twilight. I mean, she's not in Jennifer Lawrence or Elizabeth Olsen's league, but she's still decent. If she hadn't been Bella Swan, there probably wouldn't be all the endless 'she's crap/has one expression/bites her lip a lot' jibes.

I know it has its own share of problems, but every time I see anything related to the healthcare system in the USA, I'm very, very glad that the UK has the NHS (until the present government manages to completely eradicate it anyway).

I thought the relationship between Miles and Jack in Sideways is really well done, it felt like a very good depiction of two people who have been friends for so long, they can't really imagine not being so, even though they frequently get on each other's nerves. The scene where they band together against the other

A lot of this list still wouldn't have made it near the Best Picture list even with ten nominees, they're the ones where the Oscar buzz died the moment anyone saw the film.

True, but this was probably a record time for that reaction.

Any mention of Beloved? Got just the one Oscar nomination in the end apparently.

That year when Benigni and Gwyneth Paltrow both won the lead acting Oscars and both competed for most annoying Oscar speech ever, you could almost sense the Oscar voters thinking 'my god, what have we done?' almost the moment the winner was announced.

Almost as good as Harrison Ford barely disguising his contempt when he announced that Shakespeare in Love had won Best Picture (for the record - The Truman Show is miles better than both that and Saving Private Ryan, and didn't even get a Best Film nomination).

It's not a bad film but all I could think at the end of House of Sand and Fog when Jennifer Connelly is asked if the house is hers and she says 'no' was, 'shame you didn't say that an hour an a half ago'
