@highway: That is a brilliant summation. You should have written the TV club recap for the finale instead of Todd whose whole argument was basically "Yeah, it's pretty obvious Tony died but if you believe that he did you are nothing but a religious fanatic" (seriously, this is his argument, there was no engaging of…
Incredible scene, only to be directly followed by the greatest scene in television history.
Michael doing the "Omar" like one liner during his stick up (and his last scene) was cringeworthy. The ending of the Wire was mediocre at best. I did love Marlo's last scene though.
Good episode but yet more clumsy and absurd plotting by Gilligan that the rabid fans and non discerning critics will give him a pass on.
I generally agree with bradley here but "My My My" makes some interesting points regarding the over-literalness of the explanations of Don's behavior. And that is a good point about there being no evidence in the previous flashbacks regarding Adam's birth that Don was living in a whore-house at that time. On balance,…
It gets even worse. NY Times is reporting that all 14 will be shot in "one production cycle". With BB, at least Gilligan would say that the break between the first 8 and the last 8 allowed him more time to carefully plot out the end. Here, AMC will simply sit on 7 in the can episodes FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. Not sure…
This is total B.S.!!!
I hope you're right. Otherwise that is really stupid plotting by Gilligan.
Walt lets Jesse be tortured because he blames Jesse for Hank's death, not because Walt is a "liar".
The greatest theme song ever!
Cromwell is so scary evil in this, which really shows his range because he almost always plays nice guys.
Wait?…what?….problems with LA Confidential? You guys have high standards, it's one of the most perfect movies ever made. And the final shoot out is so bad ass and brilliant. I love that iincredible shot of the back of Exley holding up his badge while the police cars move towards him.
Agreed. Very underrated film. Williams has also never been better. People were disappointed when the film came out because they expected another Memento. Personally, I miss this Nolan before he went all noisy blockbuster on all of us. I will take Memento and this over the Batman trilogy any day of the week and…
I saw this when it originally came it out and I remember it being enjoyable and Kerry Washington being absolutely stunning in it (she was near naked in a couple of scenes). I do remember it getting terrible reviews which surprised me at the time. I had no idea it was written by Louis CK.
Can someone explain to me how Hank accrued $177, 000 in physical therapy bills in 3 or 4 months?
Um…Mad Dog and Glory should be in the first tier.
Yup. I remember arguing with a friend that some of the routine was actually very funny. It's really all Deniro though, he delivers it in a cheesy way, yet he is so earnest at the same time. This really was one of Deniro's greatest performances.
I LOVE this movie.
