@avclub-c1fe85b855c6d045b827f74a1e2c3fd7:disqus I was hoping Ezri and Jake would get together from the first episode in S7. I thought Nicole de Boer and Cirroc Lofton had remarkably good out-of-nowhere chemistry. And I think they had like one or two more scenes together in the entire season after that. Big wasted

Yeah, that was hard to read. Loved the book, but felt pretty queasy trying to read through that chapter as quickly as I possibly could.

I think it was this episode that started off pretty close to a full season (IIRC) of Dukat being a "good guy" and appearing to work toward redemption.

I'm a total sucker for Sorkin's style of witty, banter-heavy dialogue (even though I can probably count on one hand the number of people I know who actually talk like that), so it works for me.

I was visiting home when I first saw "The Next Doctor". My dad, who hadn't seen hardly any DW, decided to watch it with me, since neither of us had much else going on this particular day. It was just embarrassing. About midway through the ridiculous giant Cyberman rampaging through Victorian London, he turned to me

Yeah, the one last year was the very definition of forgettable. I've seen "A Christmas Carol" probably four or five times now, and I watched last year's special once.

"Carol" is fantastic, silliness of the singing gimmick and the flying shark carriage notwithstanding.

I love Mrs. Hudson.

I love Mrs. Hudson.

To Moffat's immense credit, he seems to recognize that at least the occasional episode with the Doctor traveling with a "posse" is a lot of fun and a great change of pace — "The Impossible Astronaut", "A Good Man Goes to War", and "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" all, like this episode, benefited immensely from it.

I thought the exact opposite. Yeah, the Snowmen were a bit silly-looking, and some of the scoring was a touch bright, but I mean, our first introduction to the Snowmen was them eating a bunch of working stiffs alive; the Doctor acts like a raging asshole for the first two-thirds of the show; we actually see the

I'd say all but a few of the Matt Smith episodes are really essential viewing if you're a fan, while it's kind of the opposite for the Eccleston and Tennant episodes. That being said, everything Moffat wrote in the first four seasons is great and well worth watching, and there are a few others that really beg to be

I actually kind of really like the fact that the credits are obviously designed to look dated in 10 or so years. The old sequences in classic DW defined their eras, and I think this new one does the same better than the previous sequence did.
