What's more offensive is the idea that all gay men want to dress like ladies. I remember the first season of Soap where Billy Crystal's gay character tried on a wig and a skirt, as if that's just what you do when you realize you're gay.

Considering the era of "peak TV" we're living in now, I don't know why anyone wants to make this into a movie when it would clearly be better served as a series/mini-series.
