I don't care what you all say

That outfit only seems shapeless because of the jacket she wears over it. The top underneath is actually fitted to accentuate her figure. I always felt a little cheated because Leia never wore the dress and cape she has in the original posters.

Does anyone know the song that plays as the show segues to Maura at the club? It's the soft one with the lyrics "It happens all the time." I recognize it but can't think of the artist/title.

It was a great feature. I looked at a few myself (for the first time in seven years) and you're right, it was much more than just asking about old TV shows. Next time John does one of these chats I'll be better prepared to make an argument for bringing it back!

Enjoy! Come for the Christmas specials, stay for the vintage Merv Griffin. Don't pass on the King Family special just because you've never heard of them; that was a damn entertaining show. Mitzi Gaynor was a disappointing dud though.

I enjoyed that story about the girls on Instagram because I am an old and don't have much use for social media. I'm rather fascinated by the role it plays in young peoples' lives today.

Wrong. Pearl Bailey's "Five Pound Box of Money" is the best Christmas song ever.

You should try "Blue Xmas" by Bob Dorough.

There is no smarm like Robert Goulet smarm. getTV has been airing old Christmas variety shows from the 60s and 70s and Goulet was on a Bing Crosby special. His version of "Do You Hear What I Hear" was glorious.

I love Eartha Kitt as much as any right-thinking person, but there is only One True Catwoman, and that is Miss Julie Newmar.

It was mostly people half-remembering some book or show from their childhood but having no idea what it was called or if it was even real. Often an AV Club staffer knew what they were talking about or did a little research, and if they couldn't figure it out usually one of the commentariat would come through. As

I loved it too. It felt like I was watching a Coen Bros./Tarantino/Wes Anderson mini-movie.

Maybe I shouldn't tell you that my info was premature and she's actually about to go live on Amazon.

Were you able to get one? She was only available online at Amazon and Barbie Collection, and she sold out pretty quickly. (She's a platinum label, meaning there were fewer than one thousand dolls produced.)

Depending on how limited she is, you might be able to buy her online at thebarbiecollection.com. There's been no official word on the doll yet though, so she's not listed on the site yet.

It's very cool. The truth is they just don't produce nearly as many African American dolls as they do Caucasian. This is a great looking doll - the hair is fantastic.

This is correct. Sometimes with celebrity dolls they will use a new face sculpt actually based on the person, but I don't recall them ever using a new body sculpt. I think the closest they came was when they made the Mad Men Joan Holloway doll. They gave her a padded undergarment to simulate Joan's curves.

I wasn't crazy about them at first either because it seemed like they didn't have their own identity in the beginning. One song sounded like Nirvana, another like Pearl Jam, another like Alice In Chains. They definitely evolved. Big Bang Baby is my favorite STP song.

This. Also, "Absolutely not."

Right? I was expecting a lot more strenuous objection to Chandler Riggs.
