@avclub-c156902f5b20b572848be18c11634dfb:disqus I'm of that era, and believe me, the appeal of Brett Michaels, Vince Neil, and Jani Lane was and still is as big a mystery to me as it is to you.

I know I've seen him in other things - I recognize him whenever he shows up - but I really only remember him from Animal House and Miami Vice (which, it's been over 25 years now and I haven't seen that episode since it first aired).  Hank Weldon made an indelible impression on me.

We know for a fact that Tyrion recognized Mandon Moore before he was struck down.  Assuming Ser Mandon wouldn't take it upon himself to go after Tyrion, who else would have given the order?

You don't find out about Theon's final fate in the second book either, if that makes you feel any better - that's why it wasn't shown.

No, they did not keep Tyrion around because he was a popular character.  What happened to him in the Blackwater battle is what happened in the book, except his wound was even worse.  They've only monkeyed around with the deaths of minor characters, most of whom die in the books - only the circumstances were different

Not to mention, she killed the guard at the gate of Harrenhal so she, Gendry and Hot Pie could escape; Jaqen had already fulfilled his debt to her and was long gone by that point.  She's still a badass, but I think they're softening her a bit too much.

That is an excellent catch.  Robb might send a raven to the Wall to let the Lord Commander know they'd encountered some wildlings, but that's stretching it, and it's still not the sort of thing that would get passed on to Jon.

They weren't really that essential in ACOK.  I don't see any reason why they can't just be introduced later when they encounter Jaime and Brienne on the road.

I always got the impression that killing Tywin was something she was thinking about.  A couple of episodes ago when she looked straight at Tywin and said "Anyone can be killed," I felt there was an unsaid "…even you" at the end of it.  It was part of what made that exchange so awesome.

Yes.  She makes him promise that her daughters will be returned to her if she releases him and has Brienne escort him back to King's Landing.

Yes he would, if you aged him 30 or 40 years.  You know, he got a lot of shit for the interview he did with AV Club a few years back, but I love Jeremy Davies.  Nobody does 'twitchy' like he does.

Seriously.  Craster needed to be skinnier, uglier, and look like he hadn't bathed in five years.

SECONDED.

What?  How can they have Arstan and not Strong Belwas?  Boo.  Also, I disagree with DrFlimFlam - while reading the book I did not suspect that Arstan was Selmy, so when it was revealed I was all "Fuck yeah!"  Then again, Barristan's reputation, if not his actual presence, is writ much larger in the books than in the
