Agreed 100%. No idea why people loved that movie so much, its apartheid allegory is so underdeveloped it may as well not exist and its shoot-em-up climax is embarrassing
I just noticed that in World War Z Capaldi played a doctor from the World Health Organisation. His credit on imdb is thus "W.H.O. Doctor", so clearly he's perfect for the part since he is a REAL TIME LORD
He did. This new season is just Martin Freeman sitting on the sofa in 221b Baker Street drinking tea, staring out of the window wistfully and sighing softly to himself.
I know this is totally lame and all that, but would anyone care to explain the origins of this particular meme to this sad, behind-the-times commenter? I feel like I've been left behind by the av club zeitgeist :(
The Avalanches beg to differ…
the director of this made a really cool short sci-fi film which is on youtube called 'The Gift', so I was kinda looking forward to this.
Thanks for letting us know
I remember when I was about 8-9 walking past a classroom in which a teacher was showing his class of 10-11 year olds the ventilation shaft scene from Alien to teach them about tension. I can only hope they were watching that scene in isolation and hadn't been watching the whole thing…
I will never fail to like captions making fun of The Dissolve (even if I am quite excited about it)
A Perfect Getaway is a pretty good movie.
Pirates of the Carribean V: The Fifth Movie in the Popular Nautical Adventure Franchise
Really? Do you really care about them that much? All you need to do is click on the article and then close it when you realise that maybe you're not that bothered about it. I have no idea why people get so worked up over notifications…
I just rewatched episode 2 and was surprised by just how much extra gags there are once you're aware of where everything is going. The random bird noises in the sweat lodge place, for instance
Did anyone notice that when was stabbed in the side with a spear he exclaimed 'Jesus'? That seemed like a joke straight out of Arrested Development.
LOSE YOURSELF TO CANCEraids
I've been listening to Star Fleet a lot in the last couple of days; it's so incredibly cheesy but I love it. I'm definitely going to have to give Back to Light a listen at some point soon
Hmm, seems pretty arbitrary, but I guess at these kinds of events you have to find some way of deciding what films to skip. Ah well; I haven't seen Waltz with Bashir so I can't comment, but The Congress still looks like it ought to be pretty awesome.
Hey Mike, are you going to see Ari Folman's The Congress at some point by any chance? It looks like it could be pretty great, and the review on Ebert's website was very positive.
