Rewatched it recently, and my god, it really is. I watched the documentary on Jack Cardiff immediately beforehand, who really, really deserved his cinematography oscar. It was cool (though far from surprising) to learn how much he was inspired by paintings, Vermeer in the first few scenes, for instance.
