I completely agree about Mayor Dewey. I feel like the line “They need their electronic distractions so they won’t notice this town is a magnet for disaster.” says a great deal about his personality. He does kind of underestimate the people of Beach City (As the Gems can do with Steven) but that line also shows he's

Good list, my only real edition would be The Birth of Evil two-parter. I love both a complex villain with sympathetic aspects and this particular series' tendency to be on the lighter side like Aku's Fairy Tales. That having been said, I can't deny that sometimes a bad guy who is LITERALLY the physical personification

Thank You, I couldn't remember which episode that was from, but yes I agree. that last shot of Future Jack has always stuck with me

That's my main thing I know him for. I didn't know it had a return date, I've just been using the new intros he's been adding to the videos as an excuse to rewatch all his stuff.

I had never thought of that, but cool to see somebody else who's a fan of his.

Completely agree. You know back when House Guest first premiered I was worried they were going to go down a road Adventure Time is with Martin, (not that I dislike what Adventure Time is doing. I like that Martin is suck a dick, from a story sense anyway. Given the various things that gives AT it's inspirations, you

One of the things I love about Pearl shines brightest in this episode. Pearl's biggest flaw is that she is kind of a know it all, but never really knows as much as she thinks she does. In most any other show, made for children or not, this would make her the straight man (Gem? you know what I mean) of the group and

While this story is super cool, it's not exactly surprising when you learn/remember that there are Simpsons/Futurama writers with PhDs. One of which has his in applied mathematics and proved a new math theorem for an episode of Futurama that got named after him.
What's funnier still is that writer is Ken Keeler writer

Right? and the thing is the previous season finale, right after Dan's heart attack where the two of them have that massive fight? God that one just kills me too.

And another thing, Roseanne's "Lies My Father Told Me" always gets me too

I've got to mention Moral Orel. So much of Moral Orel. Clay's speech near the end of "Nature" Part 1, Bloberta's response to Orel saying his dad changes when he drinks, "That's just his true nature coming out." or Clay's rant in the bar during "Sacrifice" (God thinking of it a lot of that series really showed how good

I would like to take the time to point out that your theory kind of blows mine out of the water and considering this show, I completely agree with you.

This week cemented one thing for me. While the show is growing up with things like the Margret/CJ stuff like it has been the past season or two, they still know how to go for broke with the insanity, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't love it.

I do think that the subtext of the two of them being involved was definitely there, but more on the literal side I got the impression that back in the day Amethyst was jealous of Greg and Rose and tricked him into thinking she was Rose, maybe before Greg knew the gems could shape shift or something.

also fun to notice some of the producers were not only Jan and Wayne but also Denny who always gets mentioned on Check It Out.

One of the most surreal and hilarious things I've ever seen on that show was Lance Reddick's "I Wish I was Levar Burton" song

So…This just happened:

That sounds about right. The first one is just called "Six Strange Tales" but it is the first six episodes and the second one has the next 8, which probably means when they get around to another it'll be 6 more and those 3 will make up the first season

Cryptogram at the end card this week "STANISNOTWHATHESEEMS STANISNOTWHATHESEEMS"

While granted the way Disney is releasing the DVDs is beyond dumb and annoying I will say at least they seem to be going in order. A show as mythology heavy as this one having sets of just randomly selected episodes would be a real crime.
