@avclub-85bf2c56896b38a7e5b01a3de8cd26e7:disqus If only that were true. I was in college in in 1992, and there were plenty of "vinylheads" who would lecture you on the error of your ways for daring to own CDs.

Nah. Giant Ivory Tower's idea is much better.

If you were in your 20's in 1992 and think reading Sandman was in some way repelling girls, I can only assume you have pretty poor taste in women.

Yeah, good point. In fact, that whole scene is unique to the movie, so it is fair to call it an updated version of the story. I was expecting someone to come in and call out a prop in the movie that was clearly past 1984, but you outdid my expectations by finding actual dialogue. I'm impressed.

Yeah, I agree. It's a nebulous gray area. Still there is nothing definitively 1992 about it.

@avclub-0f0d67e214f9fef69b278e3d08114da9:disqus Honestly, I feel the first one goes on a scene too long. The short story ends with her in the bonfire and it ends with her being seen burning up in the fire and gives the feel of her becoming another weird urban legend of her own.
The last scene, with her coming through…

You are all wrong. This is clearly Amistad II. This looks every bit as painful.

Nice one, but it's pretty clearly 1st and Ten.

I marathoned Farscape about a year ago on the insistence of a friend. I was pretty dubious for the first half of season one. I was marathoning as much to get through it as anything else. But by the middle of the season, I realized I was truly enjoying it.

I wouldn't kick yourself for getting into Breaking Bad late. I did the same thing, and it was great always having the next episode ready to go. It is so much more painful now having to watch it slowly unfold.

If this thread is an attempt to tell the most depressing TV marathon story, I believe you have won.
