I think you're all forgetting about a little film called Joe vs. the Volcano, which plainly demonstrated that an erupting volcano will cause an island to sink whole.

I was expecting him to stick up for Hurley for just a second, but he stopped after "bacon". Disappointing.

I want to see more Others - Aldo, Danny, Lennon. Especially Lennon, how's he going to pull off that name and that look when he's not Mr. Big Important Translator?

Sayid not helping Jin with the duct tape in alterna-verse seemed like a closing of the book on any possible redemption for him. He's not evil, but he's no longer the guy who would help anyone either.

I think familiarity with technology and especially computers is what makes me most jealous of the next generation. Every new development is something I have to try and make my aged brain learn while it's just the latest feature for them. Little bastards.

Heck, even if the island didn't feature at all, and it was just bearded 1867 Richard, running around the Canary Islands fighting corrupt doctors and priests, I would watch it.

Ricardo Alpert y La Isla Misterioso
I would watch the hell out of a Richard Alpert telenovela.

I can't believe someone on God's green Earth doesn't like Cape Feare. It's got to be one of the top 10 episodes of the Simpsons.

I like the filling out of stuff like the statue and the smoke monster partly because it answers questions, but even more because it adds a new dimension to the story that we've been seeing. It's something that Lost has always done well, showing one side of an event, and then revealing a completely different

If Jacob wanted Richard on the island, why did he leave him chained up? Part of his "don't get involved" policy?

I'm still holding out for MiB not being "evil incarnate" like Dogen said. He is definitely not a nice or good guy; but his murdering and manipulating isn't much worse than what Ben and the Others would do in the name of Jacob.

Jacob clearly is not a totally infallible god - he was pretty crabby when Richard first found him, and not in a "godlike wrath" kind of way.

Desmond and Penny's love story has been one of my top favorite things about Lost ever since the S2 finale; but I gotta say, Richard's now got them beat on the "most romantic" front. 140 years and he still just wants his wife back.

On that 140 years, I think Richard was overstating it a bit last week when he said he'd been on the island "longer than you could possibly imagine".

Fritzy, I imagine its because when you get to a certain age you just don't give a damn anymore.

Something else probably obvious and maybe meaningless totally just occurred to me because I have too much free time at work. The characters currently rolling with the Smoke Monster (Jin, Sayid, Kate, Sawyer, Claire) all run into each other in their flash sideways. I know there's a lot of those kinds of coincidences,

@CMYK - I took the "Catch a Falling Star" song to be a kind of reference to Sayid, et al getting caught by Flocke, but not so much in the infection sense. There's also the "falling star" mark that was put on Juliet back in Season 3 as punishment, and an interpretation on Lostpedia is that it references Lucifer falling

There's also the fact that it seems like Jack, Hurley, Ben and Locke are slightly different people in the X-timeline — they have good qualities that they lacked before, and that's also what makes their lives better. Jack and Locke are both more reasonable and actually listen to others, Hurley is positive and

I want to believe that Smokey is being totally honest with Kate because that's his nature. However, if he does have an ulterior motive, I think it would be to keep Kate from reconciling with Claire; in order to keep Claire under his control.

This came up in the comments for an earlier episode too. Their A-Team will need someone with military experience, so throw Sayid in as well. And Mr. Friendly can be their informant.
