Knowing how to challenge stereotypes requires knowing the reality behind those stereotypes.  Folks who just embrace them can never really provide satire.  That's why we need more people of color in those writing rooms.

This summer was the most fun I've had in several seasons of True Blood!  It's camp, I like the new zombie vamps. I'm SO glad they didn't keep the sunwalking plot point because I don't do sparkly daytime vamps.

I don't think "people" say this. I think "Moffat" says this, because he had one good female character and re-wrote her in iterations until she finally just faded into Clara.

Don't worry— we all have Orphan Black now. Moffat can just go ahead and show his complete lack of connection to this generation.

Also—I remain a bit skeptical that SO MANY women were opposed to a
female Doctor that Moff took it to heart. And again, if the worry was
loss of sex appeal, get a hunky new companion.

The point is that Moffat writes shitty female characters as compared to Russel T. Davies… It would be great to have a female character, but Moffat would somehow ruin her.
