If you're not a big fan of these songs, hear them live. They go over perfectly. While I honestly prefer Sink or Swim and Senor and the Queen to the rest of their work. 59 Sound is a good album, but it doesn't do as much for me anymore as it used to.

Boy, I'd sure like to find those journalists, sneak into their homes at night, slip up to their beds when they're asleep, take out my rope, and use it to measure them a brand-new waist-coat, because they deserve it.

I took a bus trip to Budapest from Prague, and they would air a movie, then about 2 episodes of big bang theory, for 7 hours straight. On the metro there are BBT ads postered up, and it seems to be pretty popular. I think we should build a wall around them and escape while we can.

Re the suitcase: it's full of diamonds. An earlier version of the script states that pretty explicitly.
Oh, I'm not arguing for "white stuff" as an insult at all. I just don't think you can extract the creator from the art itself. But I guess we just disagree.
Also, my original comment was in reference to "Girls," so it fits what you said TV.
Well, the notion of privilege (class, race, gender, etc) is that it permeates much of who you are. So, the artist behind art who refuses to acknowledge their privilege(s) becomes problematic. Does that mean not listening to them? Of course not.
Is an issue of privilege not as righteous of a criticism as one of race?
Oh, I get it, he's an injun
Exactly.
See, I disagree. Because while they definitely do show where they all were at in that time, which is why I think he still doesn't give up anything he wrote. But I think the point still stands that, for all the inexperience about it, these were still meant as completely personal songs, that, like you said, weren't…
Definitely great, but really, I think you're as guilty as the straight-edge movement in general was, of taking every one of Mackaye's "I's" to mean "you", as in "you are out of step". But really, as he's said in pretty much any of the literature on the topic, He literally means "I, Ian Mackaye", as in "I, Ian…
