Porco is able to make a main character with a pig face not only likable, but pretty damned awesome. That's quite a feat in my book.

You should see Zeitgeist. It ranks among the best comedies of the past decade.

I'd say Arrietty belongs to that caste of Ghibli movies that stand on their own merits, but sit below the classics—along with Whisper of the Heart, Kiki, and Porco Rosso.

I would posit that any form of art including scissor kicks should be considered sub-optimal.
