Nah I was just giving you a hard time.  I enjoyed the video and article.  Truth is, you are much cooler for having met him before

I like that Kyle Ryan stuck in "If I ever meet [Wes Anderson] again." at the end of the piece, just to make sure we know he's already cool enough to have met him once.

why are you married to that woman? She's hot, right? Just kidding…sort of.

Heck, just last month I blew off a week of projects (I run my own business) to re-watch all five seasons of The Wire with a girlfriend who had never seen it.  No regrets.

that could work. Surely there's enough footage of every character smiling and looking happy to splice together a wholly inaccurate depiction of the show.  Someone get on that.  but now that I've gone and spelled the joke out it seems hardly worth doing and not that funny

I've always thought the orange couch in the "Pit" of season 1 looked a lot like the orange couch in the opening credits of Friends and that there is a golden opportunity for someone to round up the cast of the Wire and shoot a new opening credits a la Friends.  You know, for humor.

yeah you could pretty much break those songs down further into "the most use chord progression" which is pretty much just 'up a fourth,' 'up a fourth' over and over, seemingly anyway.  you're also right about pop music barely scratching the surface of the spectrum, though there are plenty of examples of more

to paraphrase the American Cinematographer article on The King's Speech, Hooper wanted uncomfortable, claustrophobic framing as a way of subconsciously making the audience feel the king's constant discomfort.  I thought it worked pretty well, but then I had read the article before seeing the movie…so there's that

You might be right. I don't know much about the internal strife within the band, but I am astounded by the fact that even while they ostensibly hated each other they were able to make some of their best music
