saw it for free on campus with those guys too, maybe even the same one. the reception it received at the screening was overwhelmingly positive to the point that i thought it had a chance to succeed financially, but apparently all the people that would have liked it saw it for free on campus pre-release screenings

It's pretty great, actually.  Herzog is appreciably weird, and becomes more and more incoherent as the film progresses, but it really is astonishing to see that cave.  Of course, seeing it in 3D in theaters probably is better than instant watch, but that's life.
