I'm with you on this. I didn't love the way so much of Metropolis was damaged in the final fight scene, but it seemed that most of them had been abandoned as soon as the terraforming started. That may be me trying to justify things, probably is.

This.

Spoilers, I guess, even though the spoiler was already mentioned above.

I enjoyed it, and I also didn't find it too dark and gritty.

I disagree. Luthor considers himself to be the best example of the best that humanity has to offer. Then along comes this alien who's all about hope and setting an example for the human race (which this movie setup perfectly), and he doesn't trust it. He sees Superman as a dangerous outsider, and somewhere in his

Agreed. Damn good stuff.

I'm with @avclub-492df0a74cfc7a2dd96a9b1ccdf67985:disqus . I just recently read Birthright for the first time and I'm not sure what obviously takes it out of the running for definitive take. I'm not saying I'd call it the definitive take, but it'd be up the out of what I've read and I also have no idea what obvious

What if you completely avoided the ad campaign? I haven't seen anything since the second teaser, so I really don't know what kind of a movie they're promising.

This article claims that the movie is already close to making a profit between advance ticket sales and product placement. Even if it just does OK at the box office we'll be seeing a sequel, especially considering that the sequel usually makes even more money.

@avclub-0ae7484a9f3bbd2a21df420050c032ae:disqus Maybe not universally, but I feel like I see a lot more folks complaining about things like plot holes and the Joker's uncanny ability to be everywhere now than I did right after the movie came out.

I don't think Harry gets paid off for reviews, but maybe that's just me being naive. I honestly think he's just an overgrown toddler who either LOVES or HATES movies, but leans toward LOVES a lot more often.

The backlash can be very difficult to predict, @avclub-298673367c6de609ae5970ce1e699c50:disqus . Hell, it seems like most people hate The Dark Knight these days, but when it was released I don't recall many people saying anything negative about it. And that movie is damn near perfect, warts and all.

@avclub-ca6cb47da12090ffd2470daf51f71be1:disqus Yeah, the Green Lantern movie did use Parallax. I was just trying to say that I think was one of its biggest problems. There's not enough buildup for something that should take the entire Corps to combat.

I've only seen the trailer at this point but it looked to have poor animation and lousy voice acting. It seemed to be aimed at very young kids who wouldn't mind such things. I hope they prove me wrong.

I checked out an episode recently and yes, the animation is absolutely terrible. It's completely impossible to tell what's going on in an action scene. It jumps from scene to scene almost at random.

Stuff like this is really sad to hear.

Andy Daly and Jason Mantzoukas are easily the best pairing on the show. Aukerman and Mantzouaks always do their damndest to push Daly's characters into weirder and funnier places, and Daly is a brilliant improviser who's always up to the challenge.

On top of those cancellations, I just read that James Robinson up and quit Earth 2 and left DC.

Whoops…that was supposed to be a response to @paraclete_pizza:disqus .

The machine used directed microwaves. It's not like it just blasted microwaves in all directions. It was designed to be aimed at a water source, hence directed.
