I always remember Clemenza stirring that sauce. And also young Clemenza always eating a sandwich or stuffing his face.

No one's ever looked so goddamned menacing smoking a cigarette. I used to hold my cig like that, too, cause it was so damn cool…to much lesser cool/badass effect, of course.

I enjoy the hell out of it! Yes, well…I'm a misanthrope, you are right.

He was late to his own fucking funeral!

Ooooh, that would be awesome. Or the similar shot of him punching his brother on the floor in Raging Bull.

That's a great point. Seems as if Harris has a pretty violent/dangerous side that is easily tapped. He's always on the cusp of flying off the handle. As good as Depp seems to be in the preview here, I think he's just always a surface actor, full of meaningless tics and affectations. But I guess I'm being kind of

I'll see you in hell.

And those are the most fun levels. That damn pinball machine thing! The giant slide suspended in the sky! The killer sewer water thing with the leafs!

He was such a little freak, always bobbing his head up and down!

Could be! Especially since playing with Luigi is quite a challenge, what with him sliding all over the place like a buffoon!

This is true. I think Galaxy 2 makes up for it, though, with that "perfect" run to get the last star, the one where you can't make a single mistake. GODDAMNIT. Getting frustrated just thinking about it. Took me about 125 tries the first time.

Great piece! I've been replaying Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 lately—the replay value of these two games, for me, is just through the roof. Big worlds, lots of challenging tasks—they are just phenomenal games—but, I'm only a casual gamer, I suppose. Still, Mario is out there in the blackness of space, being shot onto

And someone that drunk and with that kind of mustache would never be a doctor, a leading man candidate or bag a babe (?) like the android lady.

Ha, no…I didn't think you were complaining! I could tell you were a fan. I just really enjoy talking about his performance in that movie. It's amazing. The whole movie is amazing. The opening credits seemed very Halloween-esque to me and I kept waiting for Michael, too.

Yes! Me too! I know the original is far superior and a classic, but I'll rewatch II over and over. Very dark mood, languid pace, almost boring in spots. Dark hospital. Long hallways. For some reason the whole town just seems dead. The night lasts forever. Lots of dread.

Indeed. And it boasts a pretty damn good performance from Curtis…it's really one of her best. It's such a fucking shame that the sequel did what it did. All that effort and payoff….just, gone.

But he's drunk. And a terrible father. And he has sex with a strange woman half his age. And Stonehenge. And bugs crawling out of skulls.

This is a great post! Nice job…perfect summary and recommendations. Everyone should try the Halloween I-II punch. And if you are feeling frisky, watch III, too. It's terrible, sure, but it has a similar tone and vibe to the first two movies. H20 is a completely different kind of film, but it's still worth watching for

Love that Crimson record!

Paths of Glory and 1984 definitely, absolutely.
