Loved this episode, it was a nice throwback to the first season. No metamaninhuman, no magic, just some good old-fashioned villain-of-the-week action with a few flashbacks to Wig Oliver on the Island. Even the stunts reminded me of season 1, with more parkour than usual when Roy isn't around.

Obviously Zoom has taken the identity of Barry's dad.
Why would his dad leave so suddenly? Why did Eobard make that confession? It all makes sense!

Wells will definitely cross over and stay with Barry. He is a main cast member, after all.

- Is it just me, or it is getting hot in here?

Agree completely. At this pace Patty and Barry will get married next episode, then she will die the following week.

Since he learned Speed Force Lightning, Barry has gone full Palpatine.

Always good for a laugh: a close-up on Stephen Amell's face on TV.

I kept waiting for the reveal that Zoom had sent her to infiltrate Team Flash, but she just seems like a Gossip Girl-type character from the Earth-2 CW (where that show is still a hit).

I really didnt think they were setting her up to be a love interest

You have to understand, Barry and Caitlin could never work with somebody who got special powers because of Wells!

If people start shipping Barry with Patty, I will be baffled.

The Flash had Caitlin and Iris kidnapped too many times already last year, so they had to introduce a new female character for kidnapping purposes (as well as a love interest for Barry, of course).

Much like the CIA, if Team Flash can't keep their prisoners locked up forever without a trial (because some people complain), they will just start killing them instead.

"What is happening to me?"

Bring Thea into the mix and I will follow this season very closely.

Shirtless.

I also watched both tonight, and they were fine. But it is strange how not much happened in either. You could say that is traditional in a 22+ episodes series, to try and accommodate new viewers by repeating the premise and setting up the season.

Or don't want to read this wall of text.

What Oliver doesn't know is that the real reason Barry went back in time was to sleep with Sara, (not) saving his mother was just an excuse.

BERLANTI: Hey can we get the Green Lantern for the Arrowverse? We had the cliffhanger in Coast City with the sign and everything ready!
WB/DC: No we're using him to make a movie, hopefully a good one this time.
BERLANTI: Oh well… back to the Island Oliver goes!
