Far as I can tell, discussion's been pretty civil. Should have happened a long time ago.

@avclub-2658c91ecbca5651a53b4b13709c62fa:disqus Yeah I've gotten to the point where I just trust that whomever he casts is probably going to be pretty great, even when they sound like a strange choice. I think I'm one of the few people who thought Mike Myers was a pretty good fit in Basterds.

I feel as though I like Futurama a little less than everyone else does, and think it's return has been a little more successful than everyone else thinks. It was never great, but it was good when it was on, and its about as good now that it's back.

I also think it's fine that he makes long movies. To me, it always leans closer to "giving the audience their money's worth" than "self-indulgence."

What's worse is, it doesn't even make sense. Like, if Rabin was making a joke about a German guy now, it would be like "oh okay, you're stereotyping German racial attitudes based on past German atrocities. That's pretty offensive of you." But he's talking about a character who is supposed to have lived 100 years…

I think it's worth demarcating between "political correctness" and "being a good person."
Being a good person: Not using hurtful racial epithets because that's a shitty thing to do.
Being politically correct: Not using hurtful racial epithets because it will make you appear more sensitive and progressive.
It's right…

Man I have no idea why people hate Frank's Brother. I don't think it was great, but it was the one where Lt. Daniels kept going to jail for getting assaulted by Frank, right? And then Frank does all the cocaine in Bolivia?

Yeah, I was raised Catholic, and I've never understood why evolution is such a big hurdle for so many Christians. I mean, why not just say it exists, but God guides it? Or that God provided the spark of life, or basic genetic material to get it going? Why would anyone think Genesis is meant to be taken literally?

I feel like that was exactly what happened. They had a great idea for a scene, and then had to kinda work the story around getting it to happen.
