Well, I think it's both. The boom mike is a nice subtle gag, but the "tension" musical cue playing while cutting between family members, and then Larry with the ridiculous headgear is way funnier.

Fuuuuck a low-key Watchmen in the style of TTSS? That's actually a great idea, but I never would have drawn that connection. The comic is all talking and politics and flashbacks, with entire character arcs hidden in easily-missed details and subtleties. So yeah that is the Watchmen I never knew I wanted so much.

Watch it again while paying attention, and you might just notice that there are a few more instances where Fight Club's stated philosophy seems to be at odds with its subtext.

I don't kid myself that it's a great movie, but Lord of War is definitely underappreciated. There are just loads of fantastically weird sequences: The part where they turn a Dutch flag into French.
