I really think the Fugitive should be on here, but it's kinda been forgotten, and I'm not surprised it was omitted.

The heist sequences are not only exciting and well-shot, but there's a fidelity to life in the gunplay that a lot of people appreciate. The choice of weapons, the way they're handled etc is all pretty realistic while still being as fun to watch as a John Woo shootout.

I agree that Shawshank and JP are not particularly good. But Silence of the Lambs is better than at least 45 of these movies.

I also think Kevin Smith makes bad movies, but he seems so integral to the time that I feel a weird twinge not seeing Clerks on here.

I find the lack of Heat and True Romance particularly strange, because I know there are writers on this site who love those two.

Under-representation =/=  Discrimination. The films you mentioned aren't markedly better than even the 50-40 part of the list.

The high quality of Verhoeven's movies always becomes a mystery to me when I listen to his interviews or DVD commentaries.
