Gaaah nostalgia. I think they fought crime too?

I thought the dialogue in Sin City was supposed to be laughable?

I think the "ehhhhhh" anxiety montage from the dinner theatre episode is the funniest thing they've done yet.

That is such a fun record.

Ha yeah, they've got a good habit of setting up sitcommy bullshit and then subverting it, without really drawing attention to it. Like last week, when Rowan pointed out that a lesser show might have taken several scenes of Bob dancing around telling his wife he kissed her sister, but simply has him come out with it in

Nah.

Re: Walt sacrificing himself for Jesse.

To me, season one feels like a totally different show. A lot more attempts at humour.

That's not an awful comparison; the first season of Breaking Bad IS pretty cartoony. Eastbound and Down just leans a little more towards dark comedy, while the first season of BrBa is a little closer to drama.

@avclub-451bf16fff6233cca8d9ad69b31c33b9:disqus Pretty much all those things are what make Walter a compelling character though. That he chooses the irresponsible and dangerous route under the guise of "doing it for his family." He's a prideful asshole, and that's what we like about him.

There was the Violent J interview, the time they got ICP to do a commentary on their movie, the Gathering coverage, and the whole "fucking magnets" debacle.

Huh? What gives it a "Eurotrash sheen" other than you going into the movie knowing the director is Danish?

Nah that's not a mistake for The Big Lebowski though. I mean, you're not going to catch even close to everything the first time you watch it, but one of its joys is watching it again and putting the story together.

Problem with the "Louie model" is that the person running the show needs to be stupid-talented. Across a bunch of different disciplines (since less employees will be allotted to an auteur-controlled show). And be able to work with a severely limited budget. And have a

I dunno, I definitely thought it was kind of ugly sometimes, especially in the beginning. Like in the first few episodes, they have this habit of doing shots from the POV of security cameras and stuff which were really jarring. Glad they dropped that.

I have no idea who told Mr. Sorrentino that his abs were a selling point. And I'm even more baffled by how many people will admit to finding his abs appealing. The Sitch has an abs-centric exercise tape ffs.
