Am I the only one who thought
That Becky saying the prize was "a Chrysler Sebring" meant that she had to win it? Once again, FNL surprised me by not going the Chuck route of showing AND telling the product placement.

Conflict
Normally, I whine when shows don't really have decent conflict between characters, but I absolutely loved this episode. I think what did for me is how often they led us to think "this is going to be a big issue" in a lot of the scenes but then delivered some excellent character moments instead.
"I'm what time and circumstance have made me."
Real subtle. Did they edit that down from "I am the sum of all the experiences I have had thus far in my life?"
"Oh, this person is dead now…"
"…What a perfect time to hang out near them and cry about them." Besides the couple of instances of that, this show fucking owns.
Nucky's suit
Made him look like AC's most angular red velvet cake.
Dexter
The rapists on Dexter also killed the victims, so they're also serial killers, not just serial rapists. But only serial killers get invited to cocktail parties.
Sounds like someone
has got a case of the A.C. Disorder.
No time for grenades, Dr. Rick!
Am I the only one who thought Glen was Short Round from Temple of Doom in like 5 years?
I too would read Raising Hope recaps. I remember being terribly disappointed that Running Wilde was the new Fox comedy AV Club chose to cover, since I thought the Raising Hope pilot was waaaay funnier than Running Wilde. I can understand not liking the shifts in tone, but I love them— I laughed really hard at the…
I think Raising Hope's great too. I honestly don't understand why AV Club hated the pilot so much, and I think it's turning out to be a much better show (and, since it just got a full season order, probably a much longer-lasting one as well) than Running Wilde. And that's coming from someone who loves…
Was it just me…
Or was the scene where the Commodore quizzed his maid about events in the news in front of Nucky pretty much a rip off of a scene in Remains of the Day?
I don't get the Ed hate
Ed has always been the guy I'm rooting for, if for no other reason than his relationships with the other chefs reflected how I was feeling about them. Alex is creepy, Ed talks about how creepy Alex is. I like and supported Tiffany, Ed likes and supports Tiffany. I think Angelo is a freakish,…
Wait, I had something for this.
Woah woah woah woah WOAH
No "Happy" by the Wrens? That's like, the Pele of break-up songs.
I second a Year of Flops review of Ravenous! Much like I second man meat…wait, no.
I would prefer not to? Bartleby the Scrivener? Not a lot of Melville fans in the house. I don't blame you, he's a tough read.
I just watched this
And goddamn did the last 5 minutes fuck all that shit up. How does someone screw up a movie in the LAST FIVE MINUTES?
Actually, my friends and I loved Ed. He's pretty dead-pan, which is rare for a reality show. When he was talking shit about Alex, (who is far and away one of the creepiest human beings ever) we were pretty entertained.
Carlo, bring me that Thai boy.
I thought the guy rifling through Sookie's family tree was supposed to be Franklin. Isn't that why it showed his boots?
The Ugly One
I'm surprised no one tried to peel Tracy in that Quickfire, considering how much she resembles a potato.
