The only thing I like about those damn books is Jenny Trout's summaries. (She only did the first book, right? If she did the others, I'd read them too.) The excerpts that she included in her reviews were terrible. I was at a friend's house and saw these books on the shelf, so I grabbed on and flipped open to a random

I love The Goldbergs, but I am sick of the "Erica pining for Geoff" story. I didn't like when she fell for him, and dragging it out this long is really, REALLY obnoxious. I hope that after the party, she's finally back to herself and she has other story lines.

Beth is pretty amazing, though.

We already knew the kids were teenagers when Jack died; we got a glimpse of them at his funeral.

This is Winston we're talking about. Of course it doesn't.

"It clearly says a backyard isn't big enough." That's some damn powerful glue!

But she went to Harvard undergrad, so they are still professor and student in the same overall institution.

She was burning her Josh and Greg mementos.

I don't think it's fair to ding them for rushing Greg's exit. I think they made it last as long as they conceivably could, given that Fontana's contract was up and he'd signed on to a bunch of other projects. There was only so much they could do.

I really like what they did with Greg's arc and am glad for his character that he left, but man, I miss him. I REALLY miss Santino Fontana's voice.

This just made me think of the holiday episode in season 1. It must have killed Naomi to find out that Rebecca moved for Josh Chan. But more than that, it brings Naomi's speech about wanting Rebecca to survive into much sharper relief. This isn't just foreshadowing of "Remember That We Suffered;" it's about how much

But she did at least go to law school and Yale at that.

WhiJo might be the best person in West Covina. He's also the only one (other than Nathaniel now) who is willing to admit just how stupid Josh Chan is.

He also at least briefly dated another girl and had Greg come meet her cousin. However, Greg bailed because Rebecca was in the hospital with her UTI-related kidney infection.

But Trent did give Rebecca the water company e-mails. She didn't use them in the trial but gave them to the reporter, which cracked the case wide open and got Rebecca the key to the city (which sadly didn't come with a cash prize). Even if you don't count his not ratting her out to Valencia, Greg, and Josh, he's still

I will take all the Coach Mellor I can get.

I have one in my living room (and an old one in the basement that I never use). It's 16 years old and going strong. I want to replace it, but I'm just too damn cheap.

I did like how Paula and Rebecca both listened to Sunil, though. In season 1, they both would have dropped everything for this wedding stuff; later, Rebecca would have been a pouty brat if Paula hadn't come to help her. So, yay for a little growth?

Related: I'd be happy to see another appearance by "Mr. and Mrs. Heather."
