Filmmakers of heavy cgi movies forget to anchor the film in reality.  Too many cgi effects, too many layers of cgi, unrealistic camera movement, outrageous physics.  All of that alienates your brain from reality.  The prequels were by far the worst offenders.  And you're right, the Avengers messed this up too.  Stupid

Most of the time I had nothing whatsoever to give, but I did lose a baseball glove, a cream soda, almost lost a converse allstar bookbag except I ripped it away and ran, and some donuts.

And as a former city guy raising my kids in the burbs, I'm wondering if I should apologize for not raising them in the city?

The first time I saw it, I loved it, but tried one more time and was feeling restless, and was getting crabby over the dead obvious plotting and characterization.

Nice post.  And that ties into a big part of the Tragedy of the Prequel Trilogy.  They kept piling on and piling on, until what was on the screen is so disconnected from recognizable reality, that it lost any sort of tension.  Such as the speeder chase in the second
