All though all us Bostonians hated that movie?  Due to the super-hyper-mega-exaggerated accents, and the way our girlfriends swooned over Matt Damon.  I had to remind my then-fiance (now ex-wife) that there's no such thing as a "Will Hunting".

I think the brass at avclub should dedicate a full column in answer to your first question.  For me, it's the scariest, most re-watchable, and  best made thriller of the decade (maybe any decade).

Actually my point is a bit different than that, considering I was 24 in 1993, when I saw JP in  in a theater full mostly of screaming adults.  Nobody had experienced anything like that before. I didn't realize how hollow it was until the third trip to the cinema.  And
