Vandella?  Is this what Martha and the Vandellas were named after?  The wiki entry for Vandella calls it a dream-invading demon or vampire which is so awesome!  Also, that really goes against the Motown trend of inspirational names for their bands (the Miracles, Supremes, Four Tops, etc).

I only saw this because of my Facebook feed.  I also am a fan of this column and hope it gets more visibility somehow.  I feel like GJI used to have only occasional entries, but now it just seems to be a clearinghouse for throwaway articles not worthy of Newswires.  This deserves better!

Apparently I am quite alone in this camp, but I quite like Tonight.  I know it isn't as good as his 70s output, but almost nothing is as good as Bowie's 70s output.

I used to have a dog that would hide in the bathroom when it was raining.  Or during the movie Identity (it seriously never stops raining during that film).

I agree that this is a really creepy story made even creepier by the secrecy surrounding anything in the Soviet Union at the time.  I was kind of looking forward to this film but it is disappointing that they went in the worst possible direction with such great "source material".

I am really looking forward to playing this tonight.  There aren't a lot of bands out there that give away as much free content or put together crazy shit like this for there fans than Okkervil River.
